DR MAKAZIWE MANDELA (Non-Executive Chairman)
Dr Makaziwe Mandela holds a bachelors degree in Social Work, an Honours and Masters Degree in Sociology, and a Doctorate in Anthropology.
She has worked for a number of academic institutions in South Africa and abroad. She spent a number of years working for the Development Bank of Southern Africa as Executive Manager Corporate Services. Prior to that she worked for Spoornet as General Manager Human Resources.
Dr Makaziwe Mandela is currently serving as the Executive Director of Nagul Investment Holdings (Pty) Ltd is also a consultant in training development and life skills at Self Empowerment International.

SALUKAZI DAKILE-HLONGWANE (Executive)
Salukazi graduated from the University of Lesotho in 1977 with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Economics and Statistics. In 1980 she completed her Masters in Administration in Development Economics at Williams College, Massachusetts, USA.
Since 1977 Salukazi has, amongst other positions, worked as part time lecturer in Business Economics at the University of Lesotho, as Programme Manager for the Development Bank of Southern Africa, as a Principal Cooperation Officer at African Development Bank (Abidjan), as a Senior Manager in the Structured Finance Unit of FirstCorp Merchant Bank and as an Assistant General Manager of BOE Investment Bank.
Salukazi is a recipient of numerous awards for her contribution to Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) in South Africa. She was a member of the BEE Task Team set up by the government to develop a BEE framework for business in South Africa. She was also identified by the Financial Mail as one of the twenty (20) most influential business women in South Africa.

LORATO PHALATSE (Executive Director)
Lorato Phalatse graduated at the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom in 1983 with a BA Honours degree in Political Science. She then went on to complete a Masters degree in Development Studies at the University of York in the United Kingdom in 1985.
Thereafter she joined Unilever South Africa in 1985 as a graduate trainee and was promoted in 1986 to Assistant Brand Manager. She moved to the marketing division of Johnson and Johnson in 1986 where she worked as Brand Manager.
In 1990 she joined the management team of NedPerm Bank as Area Sales Manager in the Banking Operations Division and was then seconded by Nedbank to set up the Women’s Development Bank in 1991 until 1994. She returned to Nedperm Bank for a year until 1995 then joined the Mvula Trust (which is a Rural water and Sanitation programme) for two years.
In 1997 she moved to the Gauteng Provincial Government as Chief Director Management Services then joined Nozala Investments in 1998 until 2002 as Chief Executive. From 2002 until 2007 she was appointed Deputy Director General; Head of the Private Office of the President and in September 2007 re-joined as an Executive of Nozala Investments.

RAMPA RAMMOPO (Executive Director)
Rampa graduated from the University of Witwatersrand in 1990 with BCom in Accounting and Business Economics in 1992, he completed his BCom (Honours) degree from the University of South Africa (UNISA). He is currently studying for his CA qualifications.
Rampa’s background includes over 13 years of accounting and investment banking experience. He completed his training as an accountant at Ernst & Young in 1994 to join Gold Fields of SA Limited as a Cost Accountant.
In 1995 he joined FirstCorp Capital (now Ethos Private Equity) as a manager involved in numerous investment-banking transactions and serving on the boards of Directors of FirstCorp’s portfolio companies.
In 1997 Rampa joined African Merchant Bank as a senior Portfolio Manager in the Private Equity Division where he was also responsible for numerous investment banking transactions including the purchase of Radio Jacaranda from the SABC.

NTOMBI MSIMANG (Non-Executive Director)
Ms. Ntombi Msimang is an entrepreneur who has spent most of her career in financial services. She holds a Bsc.Admin (Accounting) degree from the United States International University. From July 2004 to April 2006 she was Project Manager for the establishment of the South African Microfinance Apex Fund, an initiative of the dti, which has now been established. Its focus is access to affordable micro financial services for rural communities.
Between 1999 and 2003 Ntombi was the Regional Manager for the Holland based Oikocredit Loan Fund. Her work in South Africa extended to Lesotho, Swaziland, and Namibia, where she was responsible for the administration of this Fund. Oikocredit was set up to finance co-operatives involved in profitable agricultural enterprise; SMEs as well as Micro credit Financial Institutions.
Ntombi is a founder member of I-Win, a woman’s Entrepreneurs’ Network. She is also a member of the South African Women Entrepreneurs Network - (SAWEN). Ntombi is a Board member of the Financial Sector Charter Council, representing the community; she sits on the KZN University Council and is a Board member of SATI, the South African Table Grape Industry. She is also Chairperson of the Audit Committee of the National Department of Agriculture.
Ntombi is a Chairperson of Nozala Trust, Director in Makotulo Agricultural Company and Sunnyview Farming (Pty) Ltd. She runs her financial consultancy business called Noir Consulting from her farm in Brits while being a commercial farmer.

PHUMZILE MTHETHWA (Non-Executive Director)
Phumzile Mthethwa holds a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Mathematics and Chemistry from the University of Swaziland.
Phumzile is currently employed at The Document Exchange in charge of office administration, logistics control, and branch operations. Prior to that she worked as a business consultant, and for Life Health Underwriter specialising in financial underwriting.
She has taught at the Science and Engineering Academy of South Africa as a mathematics lecturer and at Nghunghunyani High school as Head of Science.

JAN CRONJE (Non-Executive Director)
Qualifications: Rand Afrikaans University (M.Com LLB)
Jan qualified as an attorney with Bowman Gilfillan Attorneys and entered Corporate Finance in 1989 by joining FirstCorp Merchant Bank. After gaining experience in a wide range of corporate finance advisory roles in South Africa, Jan spent two years with CIBC Wood Gundy Securities in Canada where he gained experience in mergers and acquisitions and the raising of debt and equity in the North American markets.
Jan joined the Corporate Finance division of Rand Merchant Bank in 1996 and became a member of the Corporate Finance Executive Committee in 1997.
Prior to joining AMB Capital, Jan was one of the founding members of Scaw Capital, a specialist Black Economic Empowerment advisory firm and also spent a year in the corporate finance division of Investec Bank.

ADELE PRETORIUS (Independent Non-Executive Director)
Adele holds degree in Mathematics and Finance. The early years of her career, after raising her children, were spent with Transnet as a Manager in the finance department.
After a short spell with PriceWaterHouseCoopers Corporate Finance Division where she specialised in the implementation of EVA, Balanced Scorecard, Cost of Capital and other value added projects, she joined Absa. At Absa Corporate and Merchant Bank, as part of the Executive Committee, she was responsible for risk management until her retirement in August 2006. She also held portfolios such as strategic investments, executive bonuses, etc.
Amongst other things, she acquired wide experience in the fields of risk management, Basel II, executive incentive schemes, company valuations, strategy, policy, cost of capital, etc.

ALWYN MARTIN (Independent Non-Executive Director)
Alwyn Martin holds a Bachelor of Science in Zoology and Botany and a Bachelor of Commerce CTA majoring in Accounting, Auditing Business Administration and Economics.
He was a founder partner of Christian, Martin, and Abrahamse Chartered Accountants and subsequently worked for ten years with Ernst and Young. In 1996 he was appointed Chairman of Vodacom Group (Pty) Ltd and Chairman of Vodac.
In 1997 till 2002 he became Executive Director of Siemens Limited and CEO of Siemens Telecommunications.

NOMAVUSO PATIENCE MNXASANA (Independent Non-Executive Director)
Nomavuso Mnxasana holds a B.Compt (Honours) and is a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA (SA))
She began her working career with Sterns Jewellers as accredit Controller, and then moved to Deloitte & Touché as a trainee accountant.
On completion of her articles in 1996 Nomavuso Mnxasana joined SizweNtsaluba as an Audit Supervisor. She later became senior Partner and her major clients included; MTN, Eskom Enterprises, Transnet Group, SAA and Saatchi and Saatchi.
Nomavuso Mnxasana currently holds the position of Group Audit and Risk Executive for Imperial Holdings.
